Know the difference between "Hanging Weight" and "Packaged Weight", there is approximately a 30% difference between the two.
*Hanging weight is the weight of the beef before processing.
*Packaged weight is the weight after processing and packaging
which is about 30% less than actual product weight.
Russell Family Farms is located in the foothills of Morganton, North Carolina. Morganton is located between Asheville and Hickory along I-40. We are a small family farm that thrives for excellence through our 100% grass fed, chemical/medication/hormone free cattle. No antibiotics! We use rotational grazing techniques. Fresh deep well water is provided from frost-free water troughs. Our cattle are processed at about the tender age of 2 years. They are dry aged for 7 days, vacuum packed, stickered, and flash frozen in a USDA inspected facility to preserve its freshness.

All of our pigs are Our pigs and are raised without the use of antibiotics, growth stimulants or added hormones. They spend their entire lives outdoors, Outside on pasture and in woods so they can express their natural behaviors; enjoying acorns, roots, grass, and hay.

We support small to large families by splitting the cow into 4 equal parts. This way you get “approximately” 125 lbs. +/- of beef with an assortment of cuts and are affordable for everyone. Get as many ¼ shares as you like. Orders for a side of beef (1/2) can be processed to the customer's specifications at NO extra charge (estimated half down required).

"Approximate weight" is around 125 lbs. +/- for a ¼ cow share. You are buying actual weight. Each share includes items such as NY strips, filet mignons, sirloins, bone-in rib eyes. ALL steaks cut 1” thick, filet mignons are cut 2” thick, ground beef in "1 lb. packs", cube steak, short ribs, stew beef, roasts, etc.
Half of the actual weight of the share will be ground beef and the other half will be all the other cuts.
COST: $9.00 lb. Packaged Weight!
Example of a deal: (Approx. weight)
~125 lbs. +/- (1/4 cow) x $9.00 lb. = ~$1125.00 + 2% sales tax= $1147.50
~250 lbs. +/- (1/2 cow) x $9.00 lb. = ~$2250.00 + 2% sales tax=$2295.00
1/2 pig packages consist of approximately 65 lbs +/- (depending on the yield of the animal).
You'll receive: Tenderloin, Boston butts, bone-in and boneless chops (3/4" thick), bacon (uncured), baby back ribs, spare ribs and mild breakfast sausage.
Price for 1/2 pig package is $6.50 a lb. + 2% tax. This is based on the actual weight of the finished product.
